I was born an artist the way some children are born with a full head of hair. I started photographing everything at such a young age that I honestly don’t remember a time that a camera was out of sight. My first styled shoots featured the modeling expertise of my cat, usually donning a crown that I had made of paper and layered beneath a sea of dolls, stuffies, and random objects that seemed important at the time.
I left school for a time to pursue artistic photography in 2006, but had minimal business skills as a young 20-something. I dabbled in street photography and portraits of the people I loved. By the time I had a career in interior design and a child a decade later, I focused more on photographing my family. Friends and friends of friends started offering me money to photograph their families. Thus started my career.
Since the early days of my business in 2018, I have photographed thousands of families, hundreds of homes, and too many events and weddings to count. I am so grateful for every minute of it. I love what I do and I am so grateful that you are here, thinking of hiring me.
I have taken so many courses in lighting, posing, composition, and how to run a business and will always take courses as a part of my professional development.
But in case you were curious about my formal education, here it is:
Wilfred Laurier University, Bachelor of Arts, Honours, Psychology (Faculty of Science)
British Columbia Institute of Technology, Certificate w/ Distinction, Residential Interior Design
